Barney Joel Stern, MD

Barney J. Stern, MD is a graduate of the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. He trained in internal medicine (Boston City Hospital) and neurology (Strong Memorial Hospital) and is certified in internal medicine, neurology, and vascular neurology. Dr. Stern is Professor and Vice-Chair for Strategic Planning in the Department of Neurology at Johns Hopkins University. He was a member of the Education Committee of the American Academy of Neurology from 1999-2011 and served on many work groups and subcommittees. He was also the Chair of the A. B. Baker Section of Neurologic Educators. Dr. Stern was neurology residency program director at the University of Maryland from 2004-2012 and a member of the ACGME Review Committee for Neurology from 2011-2016. Dr. Stern has been honored with many teaching awards during his years on the faculty of Johns Hopkins University, Emory University, and the University of Maryland.
